I've also traveled alone a few times and enjoyed it, but it depends on where and why I'm going. My wife doesn't like to go on photography trips with me because it's a lot of getting up early and standing in the cold to get good light.

Sharing a room can be incredibly awkward on occasion. Other than my wife, I avoid it.
