I think the problem I have with this discussion is you seem to be approaching it from the perspective that how men handle retirement is wrong, and that they should be more like women. If he doesn’t want to ‘explore’, isn’t that his prerogative? Your version of compromise seems to be to drag him to social events he obviously doesn’t want to go to. How is that going to make either of you happy?
